Starting Fall 2008, school groups will have two new program options when visiting the Aquarium. They can either sign up for the Learning Loop Educational Experience or Aqua Adventure, our self-guided tour. Both programs are aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) at each grade level.

The Learning Loop Educational Experience is an innovative approach to the traditional field trip where students visit The Learning Loop, portions of the main aquarium, and for students grades K-5th, our Deepo Undersea 3D Wondershow. On The Learning Loop, we provide four focused learning opportunities where students through interactive exhibits that expand their understanding of the importance of aquatic ecosystems. Students not only view the animals in their exhibits, but discover the world behind the scenes: husbandry staff attending to the animals, filtrations systems and exhibit maintenance. One of our environmental educators will guide you and your students throughout your entire journey.
Sea Life Safari - Grades K - 2 (Teacher Guide)
Let’s go on a safari! Come along on this expedition to learn about sea life at the Georgia Aquarium. Throughout this program, students will use their senses to explore and compare the characteristics of animals. Participants will navigate through interactive learning stations and Aquarium exhibits as they discover the basic needs of animals. Students will also view the Deepo’s Undersea 3D Wondershow which focuses on conservation.
Weird and Wild - Grades 3 - 5 (Teacher Guide)
Come along on a “weird and wild” adventure at the Georgia Aquarium! Throughout this program, your students will explore aspects of the Tropical Diver, Ocean Voyager and Coldwater Quest galleries to discover the “weird and wild” characteristics of different species. The students will also go behind the scenes, learning how these animals are able to survive in their habitats, as well as how we can help protect and preserve the environment they live in. Students will also view Deepo’s Undersea 3D Wondershow, which focuses on conservation.
Undersea Investigators - Grades 6 - 8 (Teacher Guide)
What does it take to be a biologist at the Georgia Aquarium? Dive a little deeper and find out! Scientific methods, animal observation, up-close encounters and data collection will help your students investigate life under the sea. During this program, students will explore the coral reef, open ocean and cold water exhibits, as well as behind-the-scenes areas.
Aquarium 101 - Grades 9 - 12 (Teacher Guide)
The “AQUARIUM 101” program examines the complex correlation between zoological operations, entertainment and the conservation of aquatic biodiversity. Through an exploration of the Aquarium’s exhibits and behind-the-scenes areas, the students will be exposed to career options, conservation and the specific needs of the animals and their diverse habitats.

Titanic Aquatic Education Add-on Program (Teacher Guide)
$4 per student
We are able to offer this exciting new education program through May 2009 as an add-on to the Learning Loop or Aqua Adventure program at a cost of $4 per person. We invite you and your school group to see Titanic Aquatic and take a trip back in time. Titanic Aquatic brings more than 190 artifacts recovered from the Ship's wreck site, draws on the powerful human stories that are central to Titanic's narratives and explores the science behind the Ship's sinking.
